Premium Kiln Dried

Cooking Wood and Firewood

High Heat Output

Long Burn-Time

Easy To Light

Consistent Quality, Year-Round

This isn’t your crummy local gas station wood

Our kiln-dried Red Oak cooking wood and firewood is sustainably sourced from Paso Robles, California, and provides consistent heat output and minimal smoke, making it the preferred choice for amateur and professional chefs and those who love the outdoors.

CountryCraft's premium cooking wood and firewood is placed into large, high-tech specialty kilns (or ovens) to heat treat the wood and reduce the moisture content below 20%, which ensures a quick and easy light-up and a hotter, more efficient burn. This is not only better for cooking but also more environmentally friendly, as it results in less ash and fewer pollutants.

Whether you're firing up a classic Neapolitan pizza, smoking brisket or sitting around a fire pit, CountryCraft firewood provides a long-lasting and consistent temperature throughout the cooking process. We offer a variety of cooking wood and firewood cuts including 5”, 8”, 12” Chunks and Bark Bits suitable for a wide range of pizza ovens, smokers, BBQs and fire pits. The essence of Central Coast’s finest oak will surely elevate your cooking and open fire experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is kiln dried wood better than seasoned wood?

Kiln-dried wood is better than seasoned wood because it has a lower moisture content, typically below 20%, resulting in a hotter, cleaner, and more efficient burn.

Our wood is placed into large, high-tech specialty kilns (or ovens) to heat treat the wood and reduce the moisture content below 20%. This means less smoke, fewer creosote build-ups in your chimney, and easier lighting.

Kiln drying also eliminates pests, mold, and mildew, ensuring a cleaner and safer wood for your home.

How much wood should I order?

This is dependent on how much you use, of course!

If you're anything like us and you're out cooking all summer long, you'll want to start with 2-3 boxes to ensure you have a sufficient supply.

We also offer subscriptions so you don’t have to worry about keeping your wood stocked and can focus on perfecting that next recipe.

What equipment can I use your wood with?

We offer a range of cooking wood and firewood sizes to ensure we can fuel everything from our portable pizza oven to your built in backyard fire pit.

Please refer to the Use and Collections section of our website to find the wood that best suits your needs needs based on use and/or the type of product you intend to use it with. If you have specific questions please contact us directly at hello@countrycraftfirewood.com

What wood size do you recommend?

This depends on what you’re using the wood with.

If you’re planning to use the wood in your portable pizza oven (Ooni Karu 12 or Gozney Roccbox) we recommend our 5” Cooking Wood.

For larger pizza ovens and mid sized BBQs and smokers, our 8” Cooking Wood provides a more powerful and sustained burn.

Our 12" Cooking Wood is best for professional pizza ovens, full sized BBQs and smokers, and fire pits.

How long will it take to ship my order?

We aim to process all orders within 1-2 days, with orders being delivered within 3-5 business days after that.
