Rich, Smoky Flavor

Red Oak from California’s Central Coast provides a rich, smoky flavor that enhances the taste of meats and vegetables making it a favorite among chefs and BBQ enthusiasts. Once you cook with Red Oak you’ll never go back.

Burns Hotter, Lasts Longer

Our kiln dried Red Oak burns hotter and cleaner than traditionally seasoned wood, offering consistent heat and minimal smoke. Its low moisture content ensures an efficient burn, making it ideal for cooking, heating, and creating a perfect firewood experience.

Never Out of Season

Inconsistent wood quality can kill the fun of open fire cooking. Mother nature may have seasons, but with our kiln dried process we ensure year-round consistency, giving you prime performance no matter the season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is kiln dried wood better than seasoned wood?

Kiln-dried wood is better than seasoned wood because it has a lower moisture content, typically below 20%, resulting in a hotter, cleaner, and more efficient burn.

Our wood is placed into large, high-tech specialty kilns (or ovens) to heat treat the wood and reduce the moisture content below 20%. This means less smoke, fewer creosote build-ups in your chimney, and easier lighting.

Kiln drying also eliminates pests, mold, and mildew, ensuring a cleaner and safer wood for your home.

How much wood should I order?

This is dependent on how much you use, of course!

If you're anything like us and you're out cooking all summer long, you'll want to start with 2-3 boxes to ensure you have a sufficient supply.

We also offer subscriptions so you don’t have to worry about keeping your wood stocked and can focus on perfecting that next recipe.

What equipment can I use your wood with?

We offer a range of cooking wood and firewood sizes to ensure we can fuel everything from our portable pizza oven to your built in backyard fire pit.

Please refer to the Use and Brand sections of our website to find the wood that best suits your needs needs based on use and/or the type of product you intend to use it with. If you have specific questions please contact us directly at hello@countrycraftfirewood.com

What wood size do you recommend?

This depends on what you’re using the wood with.

If you’re planning to use the wood in your portable pizza oven (Ooni Karu 12 or Gozney Roccbox) we recommend our 5” Cooking Wood.

For larger pizza ovens and mid sized BBQs and smokers, our 8” Cooking Wood provides a more powerful and sustained burn.

Our 12" Cooking Wood is best for professional pizza ovens, full sized BBQs and smokers, and fire pits.

How long does it take to ship my order?

We aim to process all orders within 1-2 days, with orders being delivered within 3-5 business days after that.
